What is EthscriptRalph ?
EthscriptRalph has been created by Munich based artist Alexa Wagner, leveraging the latest Ethereum blockchain innovation called “Ethscriptions”.
With this new way of storing digital object on Ethereum, collectors can simply follow the steps above to create EthscriptRalph (also called minting). Using the CryptoRalph OG collection with a green background.
What are Ethscriptions?
Ethscriptions were launched on June 17, 2023, and are a similar technology to Bitcoin (BTC) Ordinals protocol — where assets are known as “inscriptions.” Like Bitcoin Ordinals, Ethscriptions allow users to create and share digital objects but on the Ethereum network.
Ethscriptions are a new innovative way of creating and sharing digital artifacts on Ethereum using transaction calldata. Transactions are supposed to be lower cost than NFTs. For this they only require a 0 eth transaction with some hex data. You can make the argument that Ethscriptions are more decentralized than NFTs since they host content natively on Ethereum, without relying on third-party storage.
The cost of creating an NFT can be prohibitive for many artists. The cost of minting an NFT can be as high as $100 or more. This is where Ethscriptions come in. They are much cheaper to create and transfer than NFTs.
The process of creating an Ethscription is relatively simple. All you need to do is convert your digital artifact into hex data and send it as part of a transaction on the Ethereum network.
Once your transaction has been confirmed by the network, your Ethscription will be created and added to the blockchain. From there, it can be transferred between users just like any other cryptocurrency.
One potential downside of Ethscriptions is that they are not yet widely adopted. This means that there may not be as many marketplaces or platforms available for buying and selling them. However, this is likely to change in the future as more people become aware of the benefits of using Ethscriptions over NFTs.
If you’re interested in learning more about Ethscriptions or want to get started creating your own, there are plenty of resources available online to help you get started.
